Hi, I’m Alice!
I don’t really have a “thing.”
Let me explain.
I love fashion and style, but I am by no means a cutting-edge trendsetter.
Photography isn’t my “thing,” because the rule of thirds just confuses me.
I LOVE playing with makeup, but I’m definitely no makeup guru.
Home organization is DEFINITELY not my “thing.”
BUT…if I did have a thing…
…it would probably be Jesus in real life for real people.
Not the spoon-fed Jesus you get in Sunday school who magically makes everyone happy and all of your problems go away.
Not the Jesus who can’t handle our sin, so if you’re struggling you should either just leave or hide behind a facade of perfection.
Not the Jesus who only loves people who have all their shit together.
DEFINITELY not the Jesus who “told” us to kiss dating goodbye.
ESPECIALLY not the misogynistic Jesus who belittles the value and worth of a woman and her ministry and said that a woman’s role can only be in the home.
Not the Jesus who says that you can only hang out with other Christians who are carbon copies of one another, dressing the same, saying the same hip Christian catch-phrase of the week, and quoting the same sexy theologian of the month.
Not the Jesus who says that you can’t love fashion and Jesus at the same time because then you’d be vain and that’s a sin and we should all dress with head coverings and in neutral colors, covered from head to toe, and you know what, we really just shouldn’t care. (Let’s not even talk about makeup!)
Not the Jesus who stifles and binds us into rigid rules and regulations and is really just no fun at all.
Not the Jesus whose words are parroted meaninglessly with no action to back it up.
Not the Jesus who hates.
But Jesus in real life for real people.
The Jesus who came to seek and save the lost.
The Jesus who came to release the captives from darkness.
The Jesus who came ESPECIALLY for the imperfect and the works-in-progress.
The Jesus who delights in expressions of beauty in various forms, whether it be in fashion, makeup, art, home decor, or just His people.
The Jesus who walks through our own shit with us.
The Jesus who cares more about our hearts than whether we follow rules.
The Jesus who says, “Dude, what’s the big deal? Just ask her out on a date!”
The Jesus who loves, values, and lifts up women, no matter her role or her stage in life.
The Jesus who turned water into wine and raises up the living from the dead, against all hope.
The Jesus who forgives and asks us to forgive.
The Jesus who loves and tells us to love all, no matter their political views, religion, or sexual orientation.
The Jesus who knows each and every person from the deepest darkest depths of their heart and loves and accepts them completely anyways.
What’s On My Mind Grapes? is about Jesus in my real life.
Whether I’m cooking, organizing our home, speaking, struggling, enjoying my husband (*wink wink*), playing with makeup, trying out new fashion trends, working on my physical fitness, therapizing others or myself…whatever I write about, it is through the lens of Jesus in real life for real people.
If you gave my “mind grapes” a squeeze, this blog is what you’d get: pure, unfiltered, erratic goodness.

P.S. I have a nearly non-existent filter. If you’re a Christian, you might get offended.
P.P.S. The framework from which I live and write is a Christian biblical framework. If you’re not a Christian, you might get offended.
P.P.P.S. …….Hi. ;)
