If we are friends on Facebook, then you know that I am at a marriage retreat with my sweetness this weekend. I consider myself so blessed to work for an organization that so highly esteems and values marriage, and puts on a marriage retreat once every two years for its’ married staff. I can’t think of many other organizations that would make marital development a part of work.
With that said, this is going to be a shorter and less intense post since I want to get back to my husband! But I just thought I’d share some pictures from our date night (Day? Weekend??) together.
This morning when RJ was getting dressed, he ran his outfit by me. “Bandana or no bandana?” His hair is a little poofy right now, since we are deciding whether to grow it out so he can be Maurice Moss from The IT Crowd for Halloween. I do love his bandana! He looks so…ruggedly handsome.
We grabbed lunch with a dear couple we went to the Middle East and Holland with this summer at a revolving sushi restaurant. Say what??? Never ending sushi that keeps coming on a conveyor belt?? Yes please!
We began our date this afternoon at The Wine Tailor with some wine tasting.
Finally, we got a good picture.
We enjoyed the wine selection and even bought a bottle of the pomegranate Zinfandel, which was nice, light, and sweet. And did you know that some wineries have pourers that measure out an ounce of wine before stopping?? Like…not the human pourer, but the spout pourer?? It’s like magic. Or a metal ball that stops the wine flow after an ounce has been poured. Either works.
We were going to go to the gun shooting range since it was close by, but it ended up being a little too pricey so we just drove to get some BBQ from Famous Dave’s BBQ. Of course, we had to belt out “I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing,” by Aerosmith on the way. We only had about half a glass of wine each, why do you ask?
This was taken during our hour wait to be seated. We were in much better spirits than the drunk and angry man who was ranting right next to us at the bar.
But we entertained ourselves for an hour.
So good night! :) And I hope you get to enjoy a fun date with your loved one!
