I have a treat for you all today. While at my parents’ house earlier tonight, I was thinking, “What should I post, what should I post?” And then it hit me. What better opportunity to unearth some ridiculous photos and share them with the world than on Throwback Thursday? And I’m at my parents’ house, so all of our family photo albums are at my disposal! Great idea, right? I knew you’d agree!
This is a picture of my mom from back in the day. Isn’t she beautiful??
So I know what you’re thinking: “Awww, who is this adorable little boy in these photos? Is it Timmy??”
The answer is NO. It’s NOT Timmy. My parents were poor graduate students when I was a youngin’ so I rocked all of the fine little boy digs that were handed down to them. Doesn’t look like it’s bothering me!
Looks like my interest in fashion began waaaay back in the day. Cuz what’s more fashionable than aviators, Strawberry Shortcake, and diaper bottoms?
As you can see, I am rocking the Asian mommy DIY bowl cut that it seems all young Asian children bear at some point in time. I also think that right after this photo I tried to crush Jenny.
My first set-up? The kid’s all like, “Awww yeah,” and I’m all like, “BOY, puh-LEEEZE.”
I think in this photo, I had just decided to cut my hair on my own (my parents did not believe in baby-proofing the house. I had also decided to shave my face with toothpaste about a year earlier and successfully left a scar that still remains on my upper lip). Well, as well as a 3-4 year old can cut hair, of course it was jagged and my parents had to even it out, so I looked like a boy until I was 5 or something. <sigh>
Also, look!!! It’s Blankie!! Looking a lot brighter in her days of youth.
Every year, our neighborhood had this Fourth of July bike parade, where all the kids got those awesome double popsicles at the end. I think I still pose like this sometimes. Also, anyone remember these jumpsuit sets? I feel like they were super the rage back in the day.
Pre-Timmy family photo. Jenny has this look on her face a lot. Even in her baby photo. Check it out. See? And I still look like this when I closed-mouth smile. Which is why I don’t/can’t.
Ohhh, look who’s entered the picture now! The three of us still do this sometime. Wait, that got awkward…
Oh geez, this is where things start getting a little (a lot) awkward. For Jenny and I, at least. Helen (far left) looks pretty and Joy (far right) looks so serene.
And see? This is the same look Jenny had from two pictures before! Just like I said!
You can definitely tell we were children of the 80’s.
Well, look who’s looking all pink and faaaaabulous!! If it isn’t the little Prince.
Looks like things are looking up for Jenny and I. She has begun to smile, and I’m working a confused…half bangs…half pulled back bangs…unbrushed hair…choker look…oh, who am I kidding, it’s like half a decade before things start looking up for us!
This was also when Timmy was really quiet and shy. Man…those were the days…
Well, that’s it for installment 1 of Throwback Thursday’s old embarrassing photos extravaganza! I hope you enjoyed these photos as much as I did!
